Emily and Joe were married on August 22nd, with a ceremony and reception at the Liberty Hotel.

On the day of the wedding, my second shooter (the amazing Laura Widness), and I showed up at the beautiful hotel. Laura grabbed photos of Joe and the fellas getting ready, while I was with Emily and her ladies.

After that, Emily and Joe had their first look right outside of the original jail doors of the Liberty Hotel. The red rose that he was carrying was a nod to the marathon sessions of The Bachelor and Bachelorette that Joe endured with Emily and her girls; so cute!

We made sure to finish all their photos before the ceremony so that they could enjoy the cocktail hour, and then it was off to the reception in the ballroom. (Bridget Luddy, the event coordinator at the hotel, is the absolute best to work with.)

Emily chose white & gold as her colors, and she did such a great job coordinating that everywhere. She describes it as “neutral with some shimmer”. I love that after the ceremony, everyone threw gold glitter on the couple. Everyone had bits of it on them during the cocktail hour, and it was so charming because it was so celebratory!

It was clear that family was important to these two, and Joe’s cousin, Nicole, sang a beautiful song during the reception. She wrote them an original song called “I Do,” and E+J were absolutely blown away!

The first dance was also incredibly well choreographed— They spent months going to ballroom lessons so they could do the big lifts when the time came for the dance, to “Dance the Night Away” by Van Halen; they nailed it!
