Kayla and Evan were married on June 13th with a ceremony and tented reception at Evan’s parents’ house. What I loved most about their day was that it was so family and friends oriented which made it feel so intimate.

I started out at Kayla’s parents’ house to get ready with the ladies, and Shawn was with the guys at his parents’ home (aka the ceremony and reception site). I could tell Kayla was excited, and when I asked her what she was most excited about, she said that she wanted to steal his name already!  They were high school sweethearts, so, I guess she was tired of waiting. 😉

All the details were meticulously thought out by Kayla; she wore part of her mom’s veil, her grandmother’s garter belt, as well as her great-grandmother’s brooch on her bouquet. The diamond in her engagement ring was also from her family—her grandmother on her dad’s side.

When Kayla was ready, Evan’s dad picked her up in his convertible, and they drove around the corner to the ceremony. The ceremony had a lovely backdrop with the barn, and the officiant was a friend—he was hilarious!

Some of my favorite details/moments from their wedding?

• The field backdrop! It was just beautiful.
• I love bistro lights. Love them.
• The dessert table! Seriously stunning. ( Also, it was probably the most intense cake smash, I’ve witnessed; haha – you two are awesome)
• The tough mudder bruises 😉
